Brevard's other fourteen municipalities run their own building departments, and none of their permits are in this data. The largest missing are Melbourne, Titusville, Cocoa, Rockledge and West Melbourne. If you work mostly inside one of those city limits, what you see here is a fraction of your real volume. Palm Bay also issues permit types the county has no equivalent for — driveways, water heaters, exterior work — and those are counted in the market totals but are not ranked in any trade.
